As of May 15, I'm retiring from my university position to write full-time! We're moving to Williamsburg, Virginia in July, where my wife Alison is taking a position at William & Mary.

Dec 25: Double Bridesicle news:
"Bridesicle" has been optioned by Film4 Productions for a feature film! Film4's films include Slumdog Millionaire, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and The Crying Game.
Will has signed a two-book deal with Orbit to write a novel based on his short story "Bridesicle", and one based on his short story "Defenders", which was published by Lightspeed in August.
Dec 20. Publisher's Weekly gave Will's second novel, Hitchers, a STARRED review! Hitchers will be release in February.
Nov. 1: "Possible Monsters" has been accepted at Asimov's. It should appear some time in 2012.
Oct. 30: The first edition of Soft Apocalypse has sold out at the publisher, Night Shade books. So, the only copies left are those already on the shelves at bookstores and through online retailers.

Heyne Verlay will publish a German translation of Soft Apocalypse!

"Bridesicle" won the 2010 Hugo for Best Short Story
and also was nominated for a 2010 Nebula Award!
"Bridesicle" appeared in the January 2009 issue of Asimov's Science Fiction, and won the Asimov's Reader's award for best short story of 2009.
